Abstract:

The development of HIV drug-resistance poses a significant problem in the treatment of HIV-patients. Detection of mutations responsible for the development of HIV resistance to antiretroviral drugs is a complicated and labor-intensive procedure requiring certification of the entire research method as well as the laboratory performing the analysis. The article presents the first experience in the accreditation of such laboratory in Russia: the results of laboratory participation in programs of external quality control assessment aiming at identification of HIV drug-resistance are shown.
