The article continues the discussion about the problems of syphilidology initiated by the publication of O.V. Dol, M.N. Markova «On some problems of practical syphilidology» in the Russian Journal of Clinical Dermatology and Venereology. The article states that in our opinion the treatment of patients with syphilis with Ceftriaxone is unreasonable and should be used only in the presence of intolerance to penicillin drugs. In addition, patients with asymptomatic neurosyphilis received intravenous Ceftriaxone, which we believe does not correspond to this form of syphilis. We consider intravenous drug should be administered only to patients with syphilitic meningoencephalitis, generalized meningitis. The proposal on the need for examination of patients with early forms of infection in order to detect syphilis of the cardiovascular system by instrumental methods is rational. It is necessary to discuss the method of preparatory treatment of patients with visceral forms of syphilis and neurosyphilis. It is necessary to exclude the appointment of bicillin-1 as a maintenance concentration after the first course of intravenous penicillin due to the fact that the concentration of the latter is 4.9 times lower than that of the previously administered drug. The above will lead to the appearance of cysts and L-forms of T. pallidum.
