Abstract:

This problem is relevant due to increased incidence of syphilitic infection involving the cardiovascular and nervous systems in the modern epidemiological situation. Objective. The objective of the study is to demonstrate that serious consequences are possible even in the case of the initial (primary) stage of syphilis as exemplifies by clinical cases. Material and methods. The article reports five cases of neurosyphilis and cardiovascular syphilis that developed at different times after treatment for primary syphilis. Conclusion. In the aforementioned cases, all the applied treatments were ineffective. Negative non-treponemal test after treatment is only a relative measure of its success.
