Abstract:

Some plants may cause skin rash. Photophytodermatitis is a group of skin diseases caused by plants which contain chemical agents with photosensibilisative properties. The most frequent causes of photophytodermatitis are induced by Umbellíferae, Rutaceae, Fabáceae or Moraceae plants. This abstract contains a detailed references of cases in publications and authors case reports. Betamethasone dipropionate as a topical agent in the treatment of photophytodermatitis provides good clinical results. It is necessary to mention that the problem of photophytodermatitis is actual. Dermatologists need to pay more attention to this topic among their patients.
