The epidemiological situation of congenital syphilis and gestational syphilis remains highly unfavourable. We undertook the analysis of 23 outpatient records of the women presenting with positive serological tests for syphilis (performed after the specific treatment of this condition) and the children born to them. It was shown that practically half of these children exhibited at birth the signs of intrauterine hypoxia. Moreover, the majority of them underwent some or other general pathological changes. The results of this study suggest the necessity to develop a complex of rehabilitative measures for the children who were at risk of syphilitic infection during the intrauterine life.
