The present study included 577 patients (263 men and 314 women) at the age varying from 15 to 59 years who presented with chronic mono- and mixed urogenital ureaplasmosis and remained been under medical observation during 1-5 years. Evaluation of their immune status prior to the onset of therapy revealed marked changes of cellular and humoral immunity combined with non-specific resistance at the systemic level. These changes were accompanied by a decrease in the levels of T- and Tx-lymphocytes in blood associated with the hyperfunction of B-, Tc-, and 0-lymphocytes, IgA, IgM, and middle-molecular weight peptides. Moreover, parameters characterizing the state of the phagocytic component of the anti-infectious protection mechanism were significantly impaired. The study demonstrated that the combined treatment of patients presenting with urogenital ureaplasmosis with the use of antibiotics ofloxacin and roxithromycin, immunomodulator cyclopheron, and antioxidant tocopherol had pronounced long-standing stimulatory effect on the activity of middle-molecular weight peptides, phagocytic index, and the levels of immunoglobulins G, T-, Tx-, and 0-lymphocytes.
