Splenic artery aneurysm is rare (<1% of all aneurysms). At the same time, this disease is the third most common abdominal aneurysm after aortic and iliac artery aneurysms. So far, no consensus has been reached regarding optimal surgical treatment for these patients. All available treatment options for splenic artery aneurysms (open, laparoscopic, endovascular) have their advantages and disadvantages. Considering no randomized trials, as well as variable anatomy of aneurysms and arterial system as a whole, it becomes almost impossible to identify treatment approach with the highest evidence level. In this report, we present laparoscopic and endovascular treatment of splenic artery aneurysms. Effectiveness and safety of strategies, as well as the role of multidisciplinary discussion and individual approach for each patients with visceral aneurysms are emphasized.
