In 2024, it will be 55 years since the birth of lymphology in Uzbekistan as an actively developing scientific field. History of lymphology in Uzbekistan dates back to the opening of lymphology scientific laboratory at the Department of hospital- and faculty-based surgery of the Andijan State Medical Institute in 1969. Satkul U. Djumabaev (head of the above-mentioned department) was the initiator of its organization. According to the order of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the laboratory was transformed into the Republican Scientific Center for Clinical Lymphology in 1987. Currently, lymphology school is successfully developing and receive recognition from domestic and foreign scientists. More than 42 dissertations on lymphology have been prepared and successfully defended. Thirteen monographs are the result of researches in fundamental and applied lymphology. In 1989, the guide Regional Lymphatic Therapy was published in the UK. More than 500 articles were published in peer-reviewed journals. Fifteen inventions and 36 implementations in lymphology were protected by copyright. Scientific journal Lymphology has been published since 1992. Training courses were created for physicians and nurses for widespread introduction of lymphological methods into practical healthcare. Achievements of lymphologists were presented at major scientific lymphological forums including those organized in Uzbekistan. Scientific and practical activities of the Center for Clinical Lymphology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan were highly appreciated by international foundation International Arch of Europe for Quality and Technology (2012) and presented with the Gold Sign For Excellence and Quality.
