Material and methods. The reasons of cicatrical strictures and fistulas according to our observations, were as follows: bile ducts injuries and their inadequate drainage during cholecystectomy (9.2%), stomach resection (7.0%) and during echinococcectomy (2.8%). We performed 47 endoscopic transduodenal stentings of stenotic extrahepatic bile ducts after primary surgical interventions. Results. In all cases we have found strictures of the common bile duct which resulted in external biliary fisula. The patency of common bile duct lumen was restored endoscopically with subsequent stenting. Patients recovered and discharged on 6—8th day. All patients were under permanent post-operative follow-up. No complications post stenting were observed. Stents were extracted in different periods while performing duodenoscopy (from 6 to 10 months). Conclusion. The methods of endobiliary stenting are one of the main methods for the treatment of iatrogenic extrahepatic bile ducts injuries and external biliary fistula. They frequently prevent severe and sometimes repeated operative interventions.
