Abstract:

The review is devoted to the mechanisms of abdominal trauma after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as diagnosis and treatment of these injuries. Searching for scientific data was performed using the PubMed and Google Scholar databases, as well as references. Manuscripts for the period 1960-2020 were selected using the following keywords: liver laceration, spleen rupture, gastric rupture, cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Inclusion criteria were limited by abdominal complications after resuscitation. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation may be followed by various complications. There are many reports on common sternal and rib injuries. At the same time, there are few data on abdominal injuries following cardiopulmonary resuscitation due to small incidence of these events. Nevertheless, late diagnosis of abdominal injuries can result mortality. Possible abdominal injuries should be considered after resuscitation. Early diagnosis and timely treatment of these complications improve survival rate.
