Abstract:

Objective — to present a clinical case of heterotopic pregnancy with natural conception and favorable outcome. Material and methods. The clinical case of spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy with simultaneous implantation of one ovum in the uterine cavity and the second one in the ampullary segment of the single fallopian tube is described. The patient’s written consent was obtained for publication. In addition, there is a brief analysis of PubMed publications on cases of spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy over the past 10 years. Results. Heterotopic pregnancy was diagnosed with pelvic ultrasound in the patient with signs of early pregnancy, who had a history of one birth and right-sided salpingectomy for tubal pregnancy. Left-sided salpingectomy was performed and uterine pregnancy was preserved to full term. Conclusion. Ultrasonography is the main method to diagnose heterotopic pregnancy. If the patient’s condition is assessed as stable, treatment is aimed at removing the ectopic product of conception and at preserving uterine pregnancy.
