Objective — to evaluate the efficiency of using salt hyperosmotic agents (the phosphate microclyster Enema Clean) in both the treatment of gynecological patients after vaginal surgery and pregnant patients after benign tumor removal, who suffered from constipation, and its prevention. Subject and methods. Fifty-two patients with gynecological diseases requiring surgical treatment were examined. Group 1 included 32 (61.5%) gynecological patients aged 55 to 82 years who underwent vaginal-access surgery; Group 2 consisted of 20 (38.5%) pregnant patients aged 26 to 35 years who had myomectomy or ovarian tumor removal via both laparoscopic and laparotomic accesses during pregnancy. Results. After using this agent, 41 (78.8%) patients reported a sufficient effect (the stool was solid; they experienced a feeling of complete bowel emptying during 2—5 minutes without painful sensations and spasm); 11 (21.2%) had a weak (insufficient) effect that required repeated phosphate enema use on day 2 postsurgery. Analysis revealed no considerable changes in the blood electrolyte composition before and after the use of the laxative Enema Clean. Conclusion. It is advisable to use the phosphate Enema Clean to avoid constipation in patients of different ages after vaginal surgery. This laxative is effective, safe, and easy-to-use and, at the same time, does not cause changes in the blood electrolyte composition. The important property of this agent is the absence of side effects, which is important during pregnancy due to a limited number of agents that may be used during gestation, as well as to the occurrence of a number of pregnancy complications.
