Abdominal morcellomas after laparoscopic interventions into the uterus is a rare complication associated with the risk of parasitic myoma tissue persistence on abdominal organs. The literature describes only a few tens of observations of the development of this complication. The risk of developing of parasitic myoma is associated with the process of morcellation of the myomatous node, or uterus. The myoma tissues left in the abdominal cavity during morcellation continue their development and can reach tumors of considerable sizes. In some cases they can be asymptomatic, but often cause lower abdominal pain and symptoms of compression of the adjacent organs. This paper describes a case of parasitic uterine myoma detected several years after laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy. The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
