Abstract:

The authors present their two own observations of the management of pregnancy and labor in patients who at a young age (15 and 17 years) underwent removal of a major portion of the gastrointestinal tract: gastrectomy for idiopathic total gastric necrosis and subtotal proctocolectomy for diffuse juvenile intestinal polyposis. They describe the specific features of pregnancy in relation to impairments of these or those digestive processes and analyze labor management tactics. The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
