Objective — to evaluate the efficiency of intraoperative use of the resorbable adhesion barrier KolGARA to prevent a postoperative small pelvic adhesive process in reproductive-aged patients after myomectomy at the pregravid preparation stage. Subject and methods. The medical records of 44 reproductive-aged patients planning pregnancy, who had a primary diagnosis of uterine myoma, including 20 patients who had undergone laparotomic myomectomy with the resorbable adhesion barrier KolGARA, were comparatively analyzed. A control group comprised 24 uterine myoma patients who had undergone myomectomy without adhesion barriers. Both groups were comparable in the main clinical characteristics; all the patients underwent a complete standard examination. Results. The investigation showed that the application of the adhesion barrier KolGARA was effective and safe and could reduce the incidence of a postoperative adhesive process and improve long-term treatment results. Conclusion. A method was proposed to prevent a postoperative small pelvic adhesive process after myomectomy, by intraoperatively applying the adhesion barrier KolGARA.
