At present, the system of medical assistance is undergoing great changes aimed to introduce modern automated information technologies into all spheres of medical activities. The acquisition of the basic skills of working with a personal computer acquires importance not only for physicians but for the health service personnel at large. This article describes the methodology of an automated operation of a dental clinic management system known as «DMS-2014 (Dental management system)», which we have developed based on the results of a questionnaire study carried out among the experts in the field of orthodontics and the opinions of the patients with a view to improving the level of the orthodontic dental services. The pilot project for the implementation of the automated information technologies should be in the first place realized at the level of the dental clinics and other primary health care facilities bearing in mind that the leading element of national health care system is the outpatient care clinics.
