Tooth caries damage, the composition and properties of oral fluid in oilmen working in harmful conditions and in persons working in favourable conditions at Tomsk Region North were studied. It was found that oilmen total antioxidant status level and selenium content in oral fluid were lower and content of total oxidative activity and lactate were higher than in persons working in favourable conditions out of harmful industry. These data combined with the growth of dental caries in oil workers. Thus, antioxidant system plays an important role in pathogenesis of dental caries in oilmen working in the North of Tomsk Region. This necessity should be taken into account in the dental caries prevention for oil workers of this Region.
