The authors propose the clinical and anatomical rationale for the nasopalatine nerve block for the treatment of maxillary incisors based on the archival data of the CBCT study of the incisive canal in 60 patients. The effectiveness of the combined application of infiltration anesthesia with the use of 0.8—1.2 ml of «Ubistesin forte» and the nasopalatine nerve block using 0.6 ml of «Ubistesin forte» for the treatment of the inflammatory periapical lesions of the maxillary incisors was estimated based on the study of 120 patients. The recommendations are proposed to reduce pain intensity during the nasopalatine nerve block. It was shown that the proposed approach made possible the totally painless intervention in 85% of the cases. This method is indicated for the treatment of inflammation in the periapical incisor tissues including periapical abscess without fistula and suppuration of the radicular cyst. Due to the anatomical proximity of the incisive canal to the top of the incisor roots, the nasopalatine nerve block can be used as an additional method of anesthesia.
