The present study was devoted to the evaluation of the bactericidal activity of the antiseptic Anolit ANK preparation used in the form of a highly-dispersed aerosol cloud for the treatment of purulent wounds. A total of 36 patients presenting with phlegmons in the maxillofacial region of different localization were available for the examination. In 12 patients (group 1), a 0.05% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution was applied in the form of a stream for antisepic treatment of the purulent wounds during the postoperative period. In another 12 patients (group 2a), the wounds were treated with an Anolit ANK solution. Irrigation of the septic wounds with a highly-dispersed aerosol Anolit ANK was performed in 12 patients comprising group 2b. The results of the study give evidence of a higher antiseptic activity of Anolit ANK in the form of a highly-dispersed aerosol cloud in comparison with solutions of the same antiseptic designed for the application as a stream and with a chlorhexidine bigluconate solution.
