Laser surgery in medicine has made great strides; there are now many laser systems that generate radiation of different wavelengths. Lasers, which were originally developed for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, are being actively introduced into the surgical practice of many specialties. In otorhinolaryngology, lasers are actively used in the treatment of pathologies of the ear, nose, larynx, and pharynx. Lasers are often used in treatment of various forms of rhinitis, especially in rhinology.

OBJECTIVE

To systematize data on modern lasers which are actively used in rhinological practice.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The analysis of publications of domestic and foreign literature (articles and corresponding abstracts) presented in databases, which included information on the use of laser surgery in rhinology, was carried out. The search for material was carried out by keywords: laser surgery, lasers, rhinology, rhinitis.

RESULTS

Published research results indicate the promise and advantages of laser surgery in rhinology in comparison with classical methods.
