Abstract:

Worldwide, there is a rise in the incidence of acute and chronic rhinosinusitis among adult and pediatric populations. As of now, rhinosinusitis is indeed a socially significant disease. However, analysis of the data available in the current literature shows there is no consensus of opinion concerning the classification of this disease and its etiological and epidemiological aspects. All create serious problems in the elaboration of unified diagnostic and treatment protocols and contribute to an increase in the morbidity, including in the prevalence of complicated (pyoseptic and intracranial) forms.
