Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

To study the impact of social isolation on the development of adaptive reactions of the autonomic nervous system in juvenile convicts in educational colonies of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FPS) of Russia.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The data on heart rate variability were studied in 39 male juvenile convicts. The average age of the examined group was 17±1 year. The ECG signal was recorded using the Varicard 2.51 complex in standard lead II, the analysis of intervalocardiograms was performed using the Iskim-6 program. The analysis of heart rate variability data was based on the idea of the presence of central and autonomous heart rate control circuits; also, according to the data of the orthostatic test to the initial vegetative background the vegetative reactivity was calculated.

RESULTS

The categories of juvenile convicts in the educational colonies of the FPS of Russia that have a certain type of autonomic regulation of the heart rhythm have been identified. During the interpretation of the analysis of heart rate variability data using the idea of the presence of a central and autonomous circuit of autonomic regulation of heart rate and autonomic reactivity a group of persons predisposed to non-infectious diseases of the cardiovascular system was determined.

CONCLUSION

The obtained results indicate the 1/3 of juvenile convicts in educational colonies of the FPS of Russia of the total number who have a predisposition to the cardiovascular pathology development and other chronic non-infectious diseases.
