The mortality rate of the population of the Russian Federation due to cerebrovascular diseases was more than 260 thousand people in 2018. Personalized medicine is potentially capable of improving the management of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, insufficient attention is often paid to the gender characteristics of patients, although women have a higher increase in cardiovascular events with age compared to men. Atherosclerosis and atherosclerotic plaque destabilization are among the most common causes of ischemic thrombotic events. Antiplatelet therapy is the main method of preventing cerebral thrombotic complications; however, the prescription of these drugs in the context of primary prevention is associated with a number of unresolved issues. The article is a literature review highlighting the importance of controlling personified CVD risk factors based on a multidisciplinary approach.
