The article discusses current issues of relationship in the doctor-patient system, which determine both patient adherence to treatment and the potential level of social conflict arising as a result of this interaction. It is shown that the mutual understanding of the doctor and the patient is hindered by a number of subjective and objective reasons that are not always reflected by the participants in the interaction process. It was revealed that the main reason for the «distance» of the doctor from the patient is the introduction of new technologies. Modern patients are actors of medical communications, but in the conditions of the modern information society, respect for the knowledge of professionals is leveled, the significance of the statements of illiterate lovers is increased. It is shown that it is necessary to increase the level of psychological education of medical workers, as well as to revise the ideology of training programs in philosophy and sociology in medical universities.
