Introduction. The concept of state policy to reduce the level of alcohol abuse and to prevent alcoholism is one of the priority tasks of creating a system for monitoring the level of alcohol consumption by the population. In our country, such a system has not yet been created. Aim — to assess the population’s consumption of alcohol at the municipal level and identify areas with problematic alcohol consumption in a large region of our country using the Integrated Index of Alcohol Situation (IIAS). Materials and methods. Based on the results of the correlation analysis between the dynamics of medical-demographic and social indices and data on the volume of retail sales of strong alcohol in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, indicators were selected for an integrated assessment of the alcohol situation, which included 6 variables: the difference between the life expectancy of women and men (years); mortality from external causes; mortality from alcohol-related illnesses; suicide mortality; mortality from homicide; incidence of alcoholism and alcoholic psychoses; mortality from cerebrovascular disease. The calculation of IIAS was carried out according to the author’s method. Results and discussion. In general, the alcohol situation in terms of IIAS in the Krasnoyarsk Territory was extremely heterogeneous. The calculated value of IIAS in the municipalities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory ranged from 0.379 in the Abansky district in the eastern group of municipalities to 0.820 in the Kansky district in the same eastern group. The main feature that distinguishes territories with different levels of alcohol problems is the proportion of the rural population living in the studied municipalities. Conclusion. The developed method for the integral assessment of the alcohol situation at the regional level was also informative at the municipal level, which makes it possible to use it in planning and analyzing the effectiveness of local preventive measures aimed at controlling negative factors related to alcohol consumption for the health of the population.
