The paper gives the results of an investigation of the vascular wall in a monosex male sample of hypertensive patients with regard to their psychological status. The authors have assessed the individual profile of subconscious mechanisms of psychological defense as criteria for the psychological status. The investigation has established that patients with summarily higher tension of the subconscious psychological defense system have more negative values of some characteristics of vascular stiffness.
