Pelvic pain is considered one of the main reasons for seeking medical care in a hospital and occurs in 4 to 25% of cases. The leading factors in the occurrence of pelvic pain are chronic, subacute inflammation of the internal organs, pelvic varicose veins, adhesions in the small pelvis as a result of endometriosis, an inflammatory process or a serozocele (seroma), which is an anatomical dead space and is a frequent complication in various surgical interventions. The article presents a clinical case of an 8-year-old girl hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of cystadenoma of the left ovary. A serozocele due to a ventriculoperitoneal shunt cannot be ruled out. Previously, the patient underwent shunt revision with replacement of the peritoneal catheter and hernia repair of the right-sided inguinal hernia, which was detected during laparoscopy, which caused the development of postoperative serozocele. The girl was admitted to the department for planned surgical treatment. Separation of adhesions with subtotal resection of the greater omentum was performed.
