The review presents a comparative characteristic of endometriosis and cancer with respect to such parameters as the classifications of ovarian tumors, risk factors, histological picture including specific signs of atypical endometriosis, pathogenetic aspects. Assumes most of the chronic diseases found in the population and endometriosis. The association of most chronic diseases occurring in the population and endometriosis is considered. Clinical cases of rare forms of endometriosis-associated cancer in various localization are presented. Potential factors of malignant transformation of endometriosis are described. Taking into account some affinity of endometriosis and cancer, a possibility of repositioning the drugs that undergo studies for treatment of oncological diseases is also discussed.
