Objective — to determine the effectiveness of additional methods in the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding during puberty, providing a rational approach to the treatment and prevention of disease recurrence. Material and methods. The participants of this study were 100 adolescent girls with abnormal uterine bleeding, hospitalized in hospital for emergency indications in the period 2017—2018. The age of the examined patients was from 10 to 17 years old (average age was 12.8±1.4 years). The duration of bleeding was from 7 to 45 days (average 28 days). A comprehensive examination was conducted to determine the type of bleeding and a differential treatment was prescribed with monophasic combined low-dose estrogen-progestin preparations with an ethinyl estradiol content of 30 μg and levonorgestrel 150 μg. Results. The results of the examination of the patients served as the basis for establishing their hyperestrogenic, hypoestrogenic and normoestrogenic types of abnormal uterine bleeding. In 52% of the patients, the hypoestrogenic type was detected, in 12.6% normoestrogenic, in 35.4% — the hyperestrogenic type. Treatment with combined low-dose estrogen-progestin drugs resulted in a hemostatic effect and stabilization of the stroma and basal layer of the endometrium. Conclusions. The effectiveness of additional research methods in the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding during the pubertal period is shown. The results of the comprehensive examination of the patients served as the basis for determining their hyperestrogenic, hypoestrogenic and normal estrogenic types and prescribing differentiated treatment.
