Objective — to evaluate the ability of human spermatozoa to apoptosis in response to cryopreservation. Material and methods. 38 fertile men detected the expression of the early marker of apoptosis — phosphatidylserine (FS) on the outer side of the cytoplasmic membrane of spermatozoa using a fluorochrome conjugated annexin-V in combination with the iodide of propedia to cryopreservation (control) and after it (experience) by fluorescence microscopy. Results. It was revealed that after cryopreservation of sperm the decrease in the functional characteristics of the gametes is not accompanied by induction of apoptosis, and the decreased viability of the greater part of the spermatozoa is the result of necrosis, without expression of FS. It also identified a decrease in the number of live sperm that is in early apoptosis and expressing FS, which after cryopreservation was transferred to the stage of late apoptosis. Conclusion. Cryopreservation of sperm does not cause apoptosis in the spermatozoa of fertile men. The detection of expression of FS can be used as a marker to determine the quality of gametes for further use not only fresh sperm, but sperm after cryopreservation in ART programs.
