OBJECTIVE

To analyze sequential inclusion of two vascularized grafts in closure of extensive combined gunshot limb defects in victims with mine-explosive wounds.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study included 5 patients with extensive limb tissue defects resulting from mine-explosive wounds. All patients received two vascularized grafts (bone and fasciocutaneous) which were sequentially anastomosed with one limb vessel.

RESULTS

All transplants took root. There were no circulatory disorders in the extremities.

CONCLUSION

Sequential inclusion of two vascularized grafts in patients with extensive combined limb defects as a result of mine-explosive wounds is effective and safe approach. This method is not associated with high risk of necrosis of the second vascularized graft.
