BACKGROUND

Modern society does not need a standard personality, but a specialist who is able to independently and quickly solve problems in his practical activities.

OBJECTIVE

To summarize the experience of developing key competencies for surgical graduates of a medical university for their professional activities in the context of digital transformation of the healthcare system.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

To master the competencies provided for by the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education for residency programs when studying the discipline «public health and healthcare», the introduction of a project approach. During its implementation, surgical coordinators created 23 projects, each of which resulted in the creation of a final project product. Upon completion of the projects, 189 coordinators were surveyed.

RESULTS

While working on projects, students proposed various options for the final product, including digital ones. Mobile applications, websites, communities on social networks, and chat bots were created. In a number of projects, the final product was presented in the form of booklets and memory aids for patients, maintaining a digital embodiment. During reflection, 88.2% of coordinators rated this form of training as useful. Another 82.6% believe that she has noticeable problems in healthcare. 86.5% of students noted the practical intensity of the classes.

CONCLUSION

The experience of a project-based form of training in order to provide surgical coordinators with practical activities in the context of digitalization of healthcare has demonstrated its relevance and effectiveness, which was implemented in increasing motivation for learning, abandoning search skills, skills of evaluative independence, communication and presentation skills necessary for carrying out professional activities in modern conditions.
