Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

To define the mechanical strength and external relief of the microsurgical tendon suture and compare it with traditional tendon sutures.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

It was used the 20 tendons of young calves. The 4 types of tendon sutures were applied: Bunnell—Cuneo, Rozov—Kessler—Tajima, Tsuge and microsurgical suture. Macroscopic evaluation of the reconstruction zone, distraction test of the cross-linked tendons performed.

RESULTS

Comparative data on mechanical strength and external relief of tendon sutures obtained.

CONCLUSION

The microsurgical suture has mechanical strength in 61.4 ± 9.3 Newton, plain external relief that taller such indications of traditional tendon sutures.
