Abstract:

Objective. To study the variant anatomy of aortic arch branches. Materials and methods. The study was performed by anatomic dissection of the heart and aorta from adult human cadavers. Results. There are different atypical variants of the origin of aortic arch branches along with its typical version. The authors have found cases of the origin of four branches (the brachiocephalic trunk, left external carotid artery, left internal carotid artery, and left subclavian artery) and two branches (the brachiocephalic trunk and left subclavian artery). Conclusion. The found variants of the origin of aortic arch branches are of great theoretical importance in anatomy and clinical significance in cardiosurgical and angiosurgical practice.
