Objective. To justify the use of new anesthetics, such as tertiary and quaternary lidocaine derivatives, for terminal, infiltration, and conduction anesthesia. Materials and methods. The authors conducted investigations of tertiary (LHT-4-00) and quaternary (LHT-12-02) lidocaine derivatives during terminal anesthesia on the rabbit cornea using the method described by J. Regnier, infiltration anesthesia in Agati guinea pigs following the method of Bulbringand Wajda, and conduction anesthesia on the mouse tail, as demonstrated by Bianchi and the rat sciatic nerve by Gamougic and Takman. Results. The investigation showed the local anesthetic activity of LHT-4-00 using terminal, infiltration, and conduction anesthesia models, which exceeded the structural analogue of lidocaine in the duration and depth of the effect. The quaternary derivative blocked a nerve impulse only on the model of conduction anesthesia on the mouse tail and the rat sciatic nerve for more than 3 hours. However, this compound had a long latency period of anesthesia, which is a practical disadvantage. Conclusion. Tertiary amino acid-containing dimethylphenylacetate derivative and quaternized allylmorphine system have local anesthetic activity on the models of terminal, conduction, and infiltration anesthesia. The tertiary compound is inherent in the earlier development of the effect and in the pronounced depth of anesthesia, which opens up possibilities for their use in these types of anesthesia. The quaternary derivative has a longer latency period and is characterized by a high duration and depth of action on the model of conduction anesthesia.
