Abstract:

The publication presents a successful experience of treating a patient with Klatskin tumor, type IIIa according to Bismuth–Corlette, complicated by biliary cirrhosis of the liver. Low functional reserve of the remnant led to the need for parenchyma-preserving surgery, and the atypical anatomy of the liver porta structures ensured its possibility. In the discussion of the problem of treatment of cholangiocarcinoma of the extrahepatic bile ducts, data on the epidemiology of the disease, various classifications of the process and the surgical treatment methods determined by them, prognosis and survival factors are provided.
