Abstract:

This clinical example is devoted to the problem of combination treatment for locally advanced scalp basal cell carcinoma. The urgency of the problem is due to both the high prevalence of this disease in the world and the frequent recurrence at stage T3, T4. In most cases of locally advanced scalp cancer, surgical treatment that always fails to prevent a local recurrence is conditionally radical in nature. In this connection, in order to improve relapse-free survival, it is advisable in some cases to introduce an additional antitumor treatment as intraoperative photodynamic therapy as one of the most promising methods for local control. The paper describes a clinical case of successful surgical treatment for locally advanced scalp cancer by intraoperative photodynamic therapy.
