The paper describes a number of techniques that can improve the immediate and late results of pelvic eviscerations. The results of post-pelvic evisceration treatment were analyzed in patients with locally advanced colorectal cancer. The patients’ mean age was 55 years. The performed pelvic eviscerations were as follows: 39 (48.2%) total eviscerations, including 12 (14.8%) infralevator and 27 (33.3%) supralevator ones; 42 (51.2%) posterior eviscerations, including 27 (33.3%) supralevator and 15 (18.5%) infralevator ones. Thirty-seven (45.7%) patients developed postoperative complications; postoperative mortality was 9.9%. Long-term results were traced in 79 patients. In the radical pelvic evisceration group, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-year survival rates were 88.2, 78.4, 56.9, 45.1, and 41.2%, respectively. In the palliative intervention group, these were 73.3%, 46.6, 23.3, 16.6, and 10.0%, respectively. Peritoneal carcinomatosis and a positive lateral resection margin were the poorest predictive factors.
