The review gives the history of development of an ovarian hormonal function preservation procedure in young patients with invasive cervical carcinoma. It analyzes the data available in the world literature on open-access and laparoscopic ovarian transposition. via open and laparoscopic accesses. The authors show the efficiency of this surgical intervention to preserve ovarian hormonal function. Whether it is possible and expedient to preserve the ovaries in patients with locally advanced cancer of the cervix uteri prior to radiotherapy is discussed.
