ABSTRACT Purpose — to evaluate the effectiveness of the formaldehyde containing gel and ointment containing 30% urea in combined therapy of plantar warts and ingrown nails in combination with hyperhidrosis. Material and methods. The research included 80 patients aged 25—55 years: 40 patients with plantar warts (no more than 5 foci) and 40 patients with ingrown nails in combination with hyperhidrosis, which was determined using a Minor test. All patients had CO2 laser removal of pathological foci. After that, 40 patients with hyperhidrosis were prescribed 3.7% formaldehyde gel therapy, among them 20 patients with plantar warts and 20 with an ingrown nail additionally received an ointment with 30% urea. For all the patients remission duration and quality of life was evaluated. Results. In the group of patients with plantar warts that did not receive therapy for hyperhidrosis, a relapse of the disease occurred in 8 weeks for 16 (80%) patients in the form of new wartar warts 0.5—10 mm. Patients that locally received 3.7% formaldehyde gel and 30% urea ointment, there was no recurrence of the disease. In terms of quality of life, patients two times positively rated their attitude towards the disease (mean score before and after treatment in the first group was 2.1±1.2 and 1.1±1.1, in the second group 3.3±0.7 and 1.2±0.5 respectively). A significant result was mentioned in the group of patients with ingrown nail that locally received formaldehyde gel and 30% urea ointment, recurrence was noted in only 2 (10%), and almost a four times positively rated quality of life according to the Dermatological Quality of Life Index test — 74.7%. Patients in the comparison group experienced relapse in 12 (60%) patients, and the quality of life index reached 63.7% only.
