Abstract:

The pharmaceuticals solving the problem of patients with complicated dermatoses are an essential component of the repertoire of drugs used by dermatologists and venereologists. The use of coformulated topical drug products can simultaneously solve several therapeutic problems. Objective. The study was aimed at evaluating clinical efficacy, safety and tolerability profile of the coformulated topical corticosteroid in the form of cream containing a combination of betamethasone, clotrimazole, and gentamicin in treatment of patients with steroid-sensitive dermatoses complicated by bacterial and/or fungal infection. Results. The study included 360 patients. The patients reported elimination of itching and regression of erythema as early as after a single application of the cream containing a combination of betamethasone, gentamycin, and clotrimazole. Tolerability of this combination was good in all patients involved in the study; no side effects were observed. Recurrences were rare.
