We investigated and demonstrated the efficacy of a domestic drug Panavir in the complex treatment of recurrent urogenital herpesvirus infection (HVI) based on changes in major symptoms of the infection: the rate and duration of relapses and psycho-emotional disorders. Purpose. The study purpose was to improve the management of patients with recurrent genital HVI using the original Russian antiviral and immunomodulatory drug Panavir. Material and methods. The study included 140 patients with recurrent urogenital herpes, aged 18 to 55 years. The main inclusion criteria were as follows: clinical and laboratory verification of the diagnosis of urogenital herpes, the patient’s consent to participate in the study, and tolerability of medications.
