Abstract:

Signs of the rearrangement of the humoral immunity in pregnancy include physiological changes in skin, exacerbation or regression of chronic dermatoses unrelated to pregnancy, and development of pregnancy-specific skin dermatoses. We focus on etiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of two of the four major diseases belonging to the latter group: herpes simplex virus in pregnancy and polymorphic eruption of pregnancy. Joint management of these patients by a dermatovenereologist and an obstetrician-gynecologist (if needed, a psychotherapist and a pediatrician) is recommended.
