During menopause, which usually occurs in the age group older than 50 years, vulvovaginal candidiasis often occurs concomitantly with various somatic diseases. The number of drugs being administered increases (these are antibiotics, corticosteroids, cytotoxic and hormonal agents) and long courses are often required. These factors inevitably affect the microbiocenosis of vagina. The results of administration of fenticonazole in therapy of vulvovaginal candidiasis in 35 postmenopausal women have been reported. The data have shown that the possibility of administering a single dose of the drug makes it possible to achieve rapid clinical effect.
