Abstract:

The paper discusses the problems with the early diagnosis of syphilitic lesions of the cardiovascular system, presents statistical data on cardiovascular syphilis notification rates in the past decades, points to the rise in the number of cases of this pathology, and gives clinical examples. It is concluded that there should be collaboration between dermatovenereologists and cardiologists to manage such patients and these specialists' increased awareness of the clinical picture, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular syphilis.
