The paper analyzes in detail the most topical issues of specialized dermatovenereological care given to the population of Moscow. Using the work of the inpatient department of the Veshnyakovsky Branch, Moscow Scientific-and-Practical Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology, Healthcare Department, over the period under report as an example, the authors have made a statistical analysis to reveal the most serious shortcomings in the prehospital work of outpatient dermatovenereologists and the possible ways of solving the problems that are associated with inadequate continuity between health care facilities at different stages of specialized care and that are aimed at optimizing the therapeutic and diagnostic process as a whole.
