Abstract:

In children with Hirschsprung’s disease, primary radical surgery is often impossible due to significant intestinal enlargement above the aganglionic segment. Thus, colostomy is necessary at the first stage for normalization of colon diameter. Postoperative colostomy evagination occurs in 6.1% of cases, and correction is extremely difficult. In such cases, most authors recommend colostomy reconstruction that also does not guarantee success in postoperative period. We present surgical treatment of colostomy evagination in a child with subtotal form of Hirschsprung’s disease.
