Abstract:

We report treatment strategy in a patient with posterior dislocation of the left knee joint complicated by popliteal artery thrombosis and acute limb ischemia. Duration of disease was 14 days. Possible methods of correction of this condition are analyzed. The chosen strategy of revascularization with left-sided femoral-tibial bypass and thrombectomy from anterior and posterior tibial arteries is substantiated. Revascularization was carried out simultaneously with installation of external fixation device for limb immobilization. In postoperative period, resection of anterior muscles of the left leg was required due to necrotic changes and symptoms of intoxication. Postoperative wound management was performed using a vacuum aspirator. Satisfactory treatment outcome without limb amputation was obtained. We concluded an effectiveness and safety of the chosen treatment method.
