Abstract:

Aim — to assess the influence of one lung ventilation time on the incidence of postoperative respiratory failure after descending thoracic aortic replacement. Material and method. 67 patients (6 (8.9%) women and 61 (91.1%) men) after descending thoracic aortic replacement were enrolled. There were Mean surgery time was 313.2±75.7 min. Time of one lung ventilation and intraoperative blood loss were 214.1±69.2 min and 2662.3±1537.6 ml, respectively. Results. According to ROC-analysis data, one lung ventilation over 210 min is associated with increased risk of respiratory dysfunction. Three-fold augmentation of respiratory dysfunction incidence was observed in case of ventilation over 210 min. Conclusion. One lung ventilation time is one of the causes of postoperative respiratory dysfunction.
