Abstract:

A patient with pelvic congestion syndrome is reported in the article. Endovascular embolization of the left gonadal vein was followed by aggravation of pelvic pain. Considering severe pain syndrome, retroperitoneal endoscopic resection of the left gonadal vein with coil embolization was performed. Coil protrusion and perforation of the left gonadal vein were intraoperatively revealed. These findings explained an ineffectiveness of endovascular intervention.
